📱🚫 DISCONNECT TO RECONNECT – BISD IS A DEVICE-FREE ZONE
Parents and students, effective the first day of school, we will be implementing a device-free zone at BISD. The Texas Legislature has passed House Bill 1481, which REQUIRES ALL public school districts across Texas to create device-free environments during the school day.
What House Bill 1481 requires for ALL Texas students:
✅ All personal communication devices must be turned OFF and stored out of sight
✅ Includes cell phones, smartwatches, tablets, gaming devices, and more
✅ Policy applies from first bell to last bell, while on school property
✅ This is a state mandate - ALL Texas school districts must comply
Need to reach your child during school hours? 📞 Parents you can call our campus front office
👨👩👧👦Parents, please:
◾Update your emergency contact information with the front office
◾Remind your child about this new law
◾Help us create a focused learning environment
Disconnect to Reconnect - When students power down their devices, they power up their connections with teachers, classmates, and their love of learning! 📚✨
Questions? Visit www.bisd.us or call (956) 548-8000

In response to the overwhelming support from our community, we have extended the deadline for gift card donations to Wednesday, July 16. Please be aware that we will be closed tomorrow, but we will resume accepting donations on Monday.
The first batch of gift cards is already on its way to assist those impacted by the recent devastating floods as they begin the recovery process. Brownsville ISD, in partnership with other school districts in Region One, remains dedicated to standing with our fellow Texans during this challenging time.
Thank you, Brownsville, for showing up and supporting our fellow Texans! #CommunitySupport #BISD #KerrCounty #FloodRelief

Over the past several weeks, students attending summer school have been recognized for their positive behavior, academic effort, and perfect attendance. These weekly incentives have encouraged students to stay focused, responsible, and committed to their goals.
Today, we are proud to culminate these efforts with a special reward—a delicious meal from Bubba’s—for those who consistently met the criteria. Congratulations to all the students who earned this recognition. Your dedication and perseverance have not gone unnoticed!
Keep striving for excellence!

🚧 Exciting changes are coming to Sams Memorial Stadium! 🚧
The stadium will soon be transformed into a multi-use football and soccer complex. It will host a full fall schedule of varsity football games, boys and girls soccer matches from December through April, and eventually UTRGV Division I football games.
Please note that Jefferson Street will experience increased activity with trucks delivering turf, asphalt, and other materials. We recommend using alternate routes when possible. Crews could be working into the evening hours, with stadium lights on to ensure safety and efficient progress.
Thank you for your patience as we make these exciting improvements! 🔧⚽🏈
